To ensure safe and responsible golf cart use within the Town of Dublin, all operators and passengers must follow the regulations listed:
Dublin Water Works to Preserve its Drinking Water Source
The source of Dublin’s drinking water is groundwater produced from local wells. To help protect the underground aquifer and the water supply wells from potential contamination, Dublin has developed a Wellhead Protection (WHP) Plan, which was approved by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) in August 2002. Since then, the Local Planning Team (LPT) has met routinely to update the Plan and implement management strategies to protect Dublin’s drinking water source. A complete copy of the WHP Plan and educational pamphlets are available for public viewing at the Town Hall, located at 2250 East Cumberland Street, Dublin, Indiana.
The WHP LPT held an annual meeting on June 9, 2026, to discuss the WHP Program. Dublin’s WHP Program focuses on public awareness, education, spill prevention, and reporting. This year, notification letters will be sent to the Henry County Health Department, Henry County Planning Commission, and Henry County Building Department. Educational information will be provided, along with a request that they contact the Town regarding future development. Dublin’s next WHP Plan Update will be due to IDEM on October 18, 2028.
Below are some tips to help you protect our drinking water source:

Learn about groundwater and your water source and participate in watershed clean-up activities.

Recycle used oil, automotive fluids, batteries, and other products. Do not dispose of hazardous products in toilets, storm drains, wastewater systems, creeks, alleys, or the ground. This pollutes the water supply.

Limit your use of chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides, and other hazardous products. Buy only what you need, reducing the amount to be later discarded. Be sure to follow label directions.

Check your car, boat, motorcycle, and other machinery for leaks and spills. Collect leaks with a drip pan until repairs can be made. Clean up spills by absorbing them. Do not rinse with water or allow it to soak into the ground.

If you have a septic system, have it inspected and serviced every three years.

Plug abandoned wells on your property as these old wells provide a direct route for surface contamination to reach groundwater supplies. Contact a licensed well driller for assistance.

Remember that groundwater aquifers collect and store rainwater and snowmelt that soaks into the ground.
